About Cal-SOAP
Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP Consortium
Established in 1984, the Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP Consortium serves more than 8,000 students annually enrolled in:
- Carpinteria Unified School District
- Santa Barbara School Districts
- Bishop Garcia Diego High School
The Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP Consortium consists of 11 members.
Cal-SOAP California
As mandated by the State Legislature, the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is charged with the following goals:
- Increasing the availability of information to students about the existence of post-secondary education and available sources of financial aid
- Improving students' access to higher education by raising their achievement levels
- Reducing the duplication of services by coordinating outreach efforts
Cal-SOAP is a reliable and trusted resource for schools and school districts to help prepare students for college.
Today there are 16 projects operating throughout California. Cal-SOAP is administered by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC).
